Desire can bend even the most sterling character to its will.

Anna Carrington is no longer a child, but a marriageable young woman who has loved the Duke of Fairmount for years. She has kept her love for him well hidden, sure that even if, by some miracle, he did return her feelings, his dedication to propriety would never allow him to marry his ward.

Jared St. James is known for his strict adherence to the rules of society and respectability, even though he finds himself lusting after Anna. Having struggled against his desire to his young ward, he decides the only way to right the situation is to marry her off, but will she accept the man he has chosen for her or stake claim to her innocence?

Anna loves the freedom she has at the country estate; she doesn’t have to worry if she doesn’t do something that isn’t prim and proper.  She has been in love with her guardian forever and dreads the day he tells her it’s time for her to get married.

Jared St James spends most of his time in London fulfilling his obligations as Duke of Fairmount.  He has always had a soft spot for his ward and has enjoyed spoiling her over the years.  Once Anna turned 18 everything changed, he can’t stop thinking about her.  The solution, he must find her a husband.

Anna has been dreaming about Jared coming for her for awhile, when he actually shows up she can’t believe it.  She may be young and inexperienced but she knows what she wants, Jared.  Her innocence allows her the freedom to experience everything he has to offer without her inhibitions getting in the way.

Jared has tried to stay away from Anna but he can’t keep her out of his dreams.  He wants to do the right thing and find her a husband but he can’t stand the thought of her in someone else’s arms.  Marriage may be the solution but only if she will accept his marriage proposal.

I loved Anna’s responses to Jared.  He makes her feel beautiful and desired but most of all safe, so she isn’t afraid of anything he does. The love scene between them was so hot.  I love that even in her inexperience, she was able to make Jared let go in abandon.  I would have loved to see an epilogue with an update after they got married.

Overall I loved this story and how their stolen interlude was the main focus.  I give A Duke’s Desire 4 Flaming Hearts.
