Silly Warnings

Hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas! I don’t know about you, but I’m still recovering from all that fun and awesome food. LOL

So I decided to share a few funny warnings you might come across on the back of one of your presents. 🙂

  • ‘Do not iron while wearing shirt’
  • Fuel Tank Cap: ‘Never use a lit match or open flame to check the fuel level’
  • A cartridge for a laser printer warns, ‘Do not eat toner’
  • A label on a hair dryer reads: ‘Never use hair dryer while sleeping’
  • A warning on an electric drill made for carpenters cautions: ‘This product not intended for use as a dental drill.’
  • On a child’s buggy: ‘Remove Child Before Folding’
  • A label on a baby-stroller featuring a small storage pouch that warns:
‘Do not put child in bag.’
  • A dishwasher carries this warning: ‘Do not allow children to play in the dishwasher.’
  • A popular manufactured fireplace log warns: ‘Caution – Risk of Fire.’
  • ‘The Vanishing Fabric Marker should not be used as a writing instrument for signing checks or any legal documents.’
  • The label on a bottle of drain cleaner warns: ‘If you do not understand, or cannot read, all directions, cautions and warnings, do not use this product.
  • Do not use house paint on face.  Seen on TV in a Visa commercial.
  • Stridex Foaming Face Wash – May contain foam.
  • Do not eat I-Pod shuffle.
  • This product moves when used.

  1. Do not carry refrigerator on back. (warning label on refrig!)

    On Nytol Sleep Aid:
Warning: May cause drowsiness.(hmm…you think? ha)

On a Harry Potter wizards broom:
This broom does not actually fly.

  2. LOL.

This wasn’t on a present, but I saw one of those Nissan commercials where the truck was coming down a snowy hill like it was snowboarding…it did a flip and landed perfectly, of course. Then the disclaimer said, this is not real, do not try this…DUH, but I don’t understand how they get by with showing all these stunts with the trucks when the truck can’t actually do the stunts…that makes no sense to me!

    • LOL Tess! There are some really crazy commercials out today. Some I still can’t see how fit what they are trying to sell. Like, and I hope I don’t step on any toes here, the one with the hamsters driving the cars. Am I supposed to want to own a car just because a hamster does????? I don’t get it. Maybe it’s because I’m not too found of my son’s pet hamster. LOL

  3. Too funny. But there are warnings for a reason, right? Means some idiot actually tried to do what they’re warning against. Yep, lots of stupid people in this world.

    Fun topic!

    • That’s the sad part, Liz. They have to put these on there, I guess because the last thing they want is to get sued. Good grief!

      • I think usually they DID get sued, and it was a condition of the settlement. So many morons out there!

In high school, our health teacher told us about a farmer who stuck his ladder in manure, and it froze. He climbed the ladder to the barn roof, and it thawed while he was up there, making the ladder unstable. It fell when he tried to come down. He sued the ladder company for not having a warning, so they were forced to put “do not place in frozen manure” or something like that on a label.

  4. LOL … great way to start a morning (I woke up thinking it was Monday).
